Saturday, Nov. 28 marked the first day that Philadelphians could observe their city from 883 feet above sea level. The One Liberty Observation Deck is now open in One Liberty Place from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., 365 days of the year.  According to the View From The Top website, the adventure begins with a short lesson in history of the City of Brotherly Love, followed by a “state-of-the-art elevator experience” to the 57th floor. Several audio zones narrate the “monumental moments in Philly pop culture, music and sports.”

The observation deck is not the first of its kind in Philly, although it has already streaked to first place on the “Top Five Sky-High Vantage Points in Philadelphia,” surpassing the City Hall Tower Observation Deck and the R2L Restaurant and Lounge. Now the tallest attraction in Philadelphia, One Liberty Place, was designed by Montparnasse 56, a Paris-based company that specializes in the development of tourist attractions. Observations decks in Boston, Cleveland, Chicago and Manhattan are also popular destinations for tourists and citizens, offering similar opportunities to listen to the city’s history while observing it’s present. “One Liberty Observation Deck was designed to create an authentic, visually rich experience that expresses the unique vibe of Philadelphia as a place and culture,” said General Manager Evan Evans. “The visitor experience is creatively choreographed over three floors that engage visitors at every turn and provide incredible photo opportunities.” Social media is also weaved throughout the interactive presentation, further enhanced by music and the sounds of Philadelphia. Admission to One Liberty Place is $19 for adults and $14 for children aged 3 to 11.
